Position Description

EduDream is seeking a research associate to support current projects while allowing them to broaden professional skills and experiences. The research associate will be instrumental in ensuring successful client engagements and will have the opportunity to engage across multiple aspects of EduDream’s efforts to advance educational equity. This position is a junior-level role designed for someone eager to learn what it takes to run a high-functioning, mission-driven organization. The successful candidate will bring research, evaluation, and project management experience to support both long- and short-term projects as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and policy scans on key educational issues.

  • Develop research databases.

  • Assist in the design and management of evaluation tools, such as surveys, interview protocols, and focus group protocols. This includes data instrument development, online programming of surveys, data entry, and quality control.

  • Support qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, including gathering data, cleaning data, and conducting analysis.

  • Prepare documents (i.e. memos, slide decks, briefs) and sections of reports (including charts and graphs) that describe and interpret research findings.

  • Provide project support, including but not limited to client communication, outreach, and follow-ups; scheduling support; monitoring and revising work plans, etc.

  • Communicate effectively, orally or in writing, with clients, site-based staff, and other project stakeholders.

 

Position Qualifications

Interested applicants should possess many of the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred

  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably in nonprofit or education settings

  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods

  • Willingness to learn and expand quantitative and qualitative skills

  • Experience with data analysis (proficiency in Excel and/or statistical software such as STATA or SPSS)

  • Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • Strong communicator who is responsive to feedback, collaborative, and a team player

  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others

  • Ability to work productively in a web-based environment, both independently and in teams

  • Flexibility to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure

  • Effective time management skills

  • A sense of initiative and willingness to ask questions and self-advocate in the work environment

  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to educational equity

  • Interest in learning more about key education issues and collaborative research and data
